An ambitious and fast-growing start-up is seeking a dynamic and hands-on Debtors Manager to lead our Accounts Receivable function in a high-volume environment.
This is an exciting opportunity for a driven professional who thrives in a fast-paced setting and can effectively manage large account portfolios while building strong processes from the ground up.
You will take full responsibility for overseeing approximately 8,000 debtor accounts while managing and mentoring a team of 6 Debtors Clerks. The role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and the ability to ensure healthy cash flow through effective credit control and recovery strategies.
Oversee the full Accounts Receivable function across a large debtor book
Lead, motivate, and manage a team of 6 staff members
Develop and implement effective debt collection and recovery strategies
Enforce credit policies and manage credit risk exposure
Monitor ageing reports and ensure collection targets are achieved
Resolve complex billing and payment queries
Prepare accurate and timeous management reports
Drive continuous improvement in systems, controls, and processes
Maintain strong relationships with lottery retail outlets to ensure timely payments
Degree or diploma in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
Proven experience managing a large debtors’ book (high transaction volumes essential)
Previous team management experience
Strong understanding of credit control, risk management, and cash flow principles
Excellent reporting and analytical skills
Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
Strong leadership and communication skills
Experience in a start-up or fast-growth environment will be advantageous
