Introduction

A well-established Accounting Firm is looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on accounting professional with strong SME accounting and tax experience who enjoys working closely with clients and leading a small team

Duties & Responsibilities

Manage and oversee a team of 5 accounting staff members
Manage a portfolio of SME clients
Full accounting function up to Independent Review level
Prepare and review monthly and annual financial statements
Perform accounting and financial reporting for individuals, companies, trusts and SMEs
Prepare and submit SARS tax returns via eFiling
Handle individual and company income tax submissions
Assist clients with tax compliance and SARS-related queries
Review accounting work completed by junior staff
Ensure accurate and timely VAT, PAYE and other relevant tax submissions
Prepare management accounts and financial reports
Assist with budgeting, cash flow and financial analysis where required
Liaise directly with clients and provide accounting and tax guidance
Ensure all client work complies with relevant accounting and tax legislation
Manage deadlines and ensure the team delivers work accurately and on time

Experiences & Qualifications

Relevant BCom Accounting / Finance or equivalent qualification
Tax Practitioner status is essential
Minimum 5 years’ experience within an Accounting Practice/Firm
Strong experience working with SME clients
Experience with individual and company tax submissions on SARS eFiling
Strong accounting experience up to Independent Review level
