Introduction

An established SME finance business is looking to appoint a skilled Accountant to join their growing finance team. This role is ideal for a hands-on accountant who enjoys working closely with loan portfolios and supporting entrepreneurial businesses across South Africa.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Loan drawdowns, repayments, interest calculations, early settlements and amortisations
  • Customer loan account and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Invoicing, credit notes and payment allocations
  • Debit order preparation and management of unpaid accounts
  • Customer query resolution and liaison with internal legal team where required
  • Journals, VAT calculations and reconciliations
  • Intercompany loan account balancing
  • Cash flow management and daily bank reconciliations
  • Audit support and ad hoc finance tasks

Experiences & Qualifications

  • BCom degree (Accounting as a major, Finance as a subject)
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in an accounting / bookkeeping role
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Not suitable for CA(SA) candidates
